1. Who is your style icon?
JackieO, Grace Kelly and The Countess (dont laugh!) but I am sure I come off more like The Party Hearty Girl lol!

2. What is your favorite socialite lit book?

3. Favorite party theme?
Any party the hosts put some effort into!

4. “Go to” Halloween costume? 
I dont have one - perhaps I should add this to the list!

5. Extravagance you cannot live without?
Hair appointments, summer pedis, perfume, Starbucks!

6. Living person you admire?
Gosh there are so many...all strong women who have found their path and their truth.

7. Greatest Fear?
Not going there!

8. Trait you deplore in yourself?
Do fat thighs count?  I am impatient - very impatient...I dont think I deplore that in myself though, I think I am inspiring everyone around me with my high standards!  But impatience would probably be my worst trait.  The Suburban Prince might argue that so we will see what he says when he reads this!

9. Which talent would you most like to have?
I am sure any talent would do as I dont actually think I have any reall talent for anything!  Maybe dancing would be a good one!

10. Greatest Achievement?
Finding the Suburban Prince and creating our life together and of course, the Little Prince!

Happy 101 Award!

Preppy Pink and Green Puppy gave me this award a few weeks ago and I thought it would get lost in the Christmas posts so I decided to wait until now to post about it! Thank you so much Preppy Pink and Green Puppy! I love this award and it was so thoughtful of you to pass it along to me!

10 things that make me happy....

1. The Little Prince - I am blown away every single day by this little person who causes so much havoc but gives so much love with reckless abandon! I have been trying to teach him to say 'Love' and when I ask him to say it he gives me a big hug - that will do!

2. The Suburban Prince - I married the best husband in the whole world!

3. The Furry Prince - I don't talk about him much here but he really is my first child. He has been a warm presence at my side for more than 6 years now! I love curling up with him at the end of the day!

4. Blogging - I am amazed every day at how much fun blogging is! I love keeping up with all of my blogger friends!

5. Socializing - I love to go out with friends and catch up with everyone! I was so happy when my phone started beeping again this week when my pals were getting home from their Christmas trips!

6. Television - I cant get enough of it! I love soaps, reality shows, news shows, dramas, movies et cetera - I love it all!

7. Sony eReader - I really thought I would miss paper and turning the pages of a book but I don't! Within a few minutes of using my eReader I was hooked!

8. Organizing - I just love seeing my house all neat and tidy! It makes me feel so calm and in control!

9. Entertaining - Is there anything better than having people over for the evening to chat and have a few drinks?

10. Party Planning - You know when you just stumble upon a passion? This is how party planning is for me! Each year my parties would get more and more elaborate (hello, I had a palm tree in my living room for a party this year) and I realised there is a big party planning community out there in cyberspace! Seeing how much other people put into their parties too made me realise this is my calling - I just thought I was a nice hostess...noooo...I am a party planner!

9. I am the only child of an only child of an only child. The Little Prince is the 4th only child in a row!

10. I don't drink coffee but my day must start with Ovaltine and vanilla Coffee Mate.

I just have to take a moment to gush over the Little Prince. He is 18 months old today and every single day he makes my heart sing. He is cute, funny, cheeky, snuggly, loud, messy, pushy, charming, sweet and all of the other things little boys should be. I am constantly blown away by how adorable he is and his never ending desire to learn and explore the world. I love you little one!

Things I am obsessed with...

1) Autumn! I love the food, smells, chill in the air, sweaters, colours - everything!

2) Blogging! I had no idea how much I would love writing every day!

3) Grammar! Yes, I am that person! My biggest grammatical pet peeve is seeing how many people have no idea when to use ME and when to use I.

4) Housewifery! I like to think of myself as a mix of Martha, Bree, June and Charlotte all rolled into one! I cook, clean, craft, decorate, raise my son, take care of my husband, and still lead a fabulous life outside of the home. I like to set a good example for all the housewives who are struggling to revisit their former fabulous selves! Just because you are a housewife doesn't mean you shouldn't put on some lippy and a cute dress and knock the world dead!

5) Clothes! Now that I am (finally!!) back within the range of my old weight I can, at last fit into my old clothes. I am now once again obsessed with my wardrobe! I even had my husband wallpaper my closet for me so my clothes have a nice home!

Seven Things About Moi:

1. I am a housewife and I consider that my profession. I take this very seriously and don't take kindly to being put down because I don't work outside of the home. I strive to be the best housewife!

2. I LOVE The Real Housewives of OC/NYC/NJ/ATL! I cant get enough of them! I find too many tv shows are full of violence, kidnappings, murders and lots of other scary things and I just don't like to invite that into my home. The Real Housewives shows are just a nice way to escape reality every once in a while.

3. I was born in Scotland and grew up in Canada. Yes I have eaten Haggis, yes it is yummy!

4. I met the Suburban Prince online when I was 31! We got married when I was 32.

5. I have some strange addiction to exclamation points. I feel like I sound stern if I don't use them. (See...didn't that sound stern?)

6. I was thrown off a camel in the Sahara Desert! Yes I was scared, yes I was hurt, yes I survived!

7. My secret (not so secret now!) girl crush is Hoda Kotb. I watch the 4th hour every morning and I think she is awesome! I love how she dresses and she seems to have a great life! And great hair!

My First Award!

First thing this morning I checked all of my favourite blogs (like I do every morning) and as I was reading Glamour Girl's post about her Trailer Trash party and Blog Awards I came across my name! Yes, little ol' me! Glamour Girl has very kindly bestowed upon me the You're A Gem Award! I am so thrilled to think my blog is award worthy!
