The last week has been so stressful. The old tenants moved out and left our house in such a horrible condition I can only assume they are the dirtiest, filthiest pigs I have ever met in my life. On top of that they have been incredibly nasty to us while we try to get all of this sorted out. Fortunately the new tenants are amazing and have been a huge part of getting this mess sorted out. They move in this weekend and I am sending a bottle of Cliquot to the house for them on Sunday.
Another thing that is stressing me out is the Little Prince's lack of verbal skills. It is not something I have ever blogged about - I really don't want this to be another mom blog but it is a part of my life, my struggle and I feel it is important to put out there. The Little Prince is 22 months and doesn't speak. He repeats things but wont use words to express himself. 3 weeks ago I started making phone calls to different agencies - I was amazed at how helpful people were! I was passed around a bit but I did get valuable information from everyone I spoke to including public health nurses, speech pathologists and child development case workers. We were assigned a case worker who will be our advocate until the Little Prince is 18. We spoke last week and she is so amazingly nice - the perfect type of person for working with children and their moms who have their emotions way too close to the surface. So today the Little Prince is going to be evaluated so we can be referred to the right agencies and doctors. Wish us luck! If you suspect your child is missing milestones please contact your local agencies - start with the public health nurse. I was amazed at how fast they leapt on this and got us in the system and on the road to catching up!
Have a fabulous day!
