Eating like an aristocrat

Last month I found myself in Yorkville quite by surprise so I insisted on a stop at Pusateri's for some treats.  I tried kale chips for the first time.  Me no likey.  I don't understand what the big deal is about them.  I do understand the big deal about cashews dipped in maple crunch then covered with chocolate.  I didn't even get a taste of the salmon - but the cheese was amazingly yummy!  If anyone has any tips on how to crack a quail egg please let me know - they are tough little things!

Comments keep bloggers inspired...please take the time to say hello!

Have a fabulous day!

Oh you know I'm a huge fan of Pusateri's ~ whenever we are at our city home you know I'm doing a Pusateri's run. Quail eggs are oh so yummy .. but like anything in life worth having a little challenge comes with it.

What has worked for me in the past is getting a little crack in the shell (at the tip) then carefully working the crack until the top (tip) is off. The protective membrane can be the toughest to get through. Friends made it easy looking by using quail egg scissors ... though I could never manage to get them to work as smoothly for me. You could find these scissors on line or I'm sure in any Cuisine shop in Yorkville. xo C. HHL

Obviously this place is part of local knowledge. I found a second hand copy of Dr. Dukan's recipes (said to be the secret of the Middleton ladies' thin figures) and decided it was definitely a diet for the wealthy.

I am a fan of the kale chip. I prefer to make my own with about ten gallons of Tabasco or wasabi...but then I eat the lot in about four minutes, so it hardly seems worth going through the effort. Chocolate-dipped cashews.....now that I could get into!

I hate Kale chips. So gross. I like your little food safari. Husband likes to do that!
