It's Laser Day!

Today is the big day!  In a few hours the Suburban Prince and I will be heading into the city for lunch, a little bit of shopping and then my laser eye surgery!

I hear I will be offered a valium and have no idea if I should take it or not.  I have never had one and have no idea if it will knock me out, give me a fit of the giggles, give me the munchies, make me see all the beautiful colours....oh wait, I think that's pot.  If anyone can tell me what a valium is like I would love to know what to expect!

Above is the view from the optometrist's office...the CN Tower and Varsity Stadium...the Suburban Prince and I had our first date in the hotel bar in the big building on the right hand side.  Turn left and go down this one way street and you will find yourself in the most swankified shopping area of Toronto (Yorkville) and I'm not feeling good about spending the day there with my glasses on, without makeup!  But so happy to know I will be coming home to a new life, without contacts and glasses!

I should be back online tomorrow night!

Have a fabulous day!

SP, the only time I ever took a Val was on the day my Daddy died! I was sooooo upset at the hospital, the Doctors gave me one. I started giggling and felt very relaxed...husband said "No mas MissJanice.". Good luck with your laser surgery!

Good luck with surgery! If you're nervous...take the Val. It will make you feel like you are on a fluffy cloud (or give you fits of giggles, as MissJanice said). It is meant to relax you. I doubt they'll give you a high dose.

Take the valium - It will just relax you and they won't give you enough to knock you out. I had it after my spinal surgery and it helped alot. Lots of luck! Let me know how it goes!

Good luck with the eye procedure today ! As for the valium, I have taken it once and it simply relaxed me so I would suggest taking it if offered.

Good luck! My sister had it done a couple years ago and loves it! I'm a big chicken so will stick with contacts/glasses :)

Probably too late to chime in on the Valium issue, but I say 'yes'! I'm a nervous nellie about medical stuff, so I'm in favor of just about anything to take the edge off.

Have a great day shopping and dining out with Suburban Prince. Looking forward to hearing all about your surgery. Maybe someday I'll get brave enough to have it done.

I could not tell you. The one and only time I took a valium was the day of my infant son's funeral. It did not have an effect on me, but it knocked my husband out!

Good luck! I hope all has gone well and that you had a great day with your hubby.

Hugs,
Tracy

Hope the surgery went well. Everyone I know who has had it is happy with the results.

If you're prone to freaking out the valium will only make you calm. The one time I took it was before my first tap dancing recital at age 42, LOL!
