Sophie Kinsella Event

On September 24th High Heeled Life and I went to the Sophie Kinsella book signing in Toronto.  We met uptown and made our way through rush hour traffic to get downtown in time to get in line and wait.  And wait.  And wait.  It took 3 hours to get through the line and up to the stage to have our books signed - fortunately we had some fun company around us to help pass the time!

Sophie told a story about how someone added Becky and Luke's wedding registry to the T&Co website and how much she loved that because it made them so real for her.  When Sophie was in NYC doing a signing a young lady admitted she was the one who did it!  What an amazing story!

Sophie smiled and chatted with each and every fan who came to meet her.  I dont mind waiting 3 hours when the person I wait for is actually nice and takes the time with each person who wants to share their favourite parts of their books.  We had a lovely little chat and she seemed truly grateful for every single fan who came to see her.

While we waited in line we spotted this gentleman with his wife.  As Maximinimus always says, if you are a man and you are going to sport pink, you must do it with confidence or dont do it at all!

Once we got our books signed, photos taken and chatted with a friend of HHL's who happened to be at the event too we made our way to Yorkville Avenue for a bite to eat.  On the way to the restaurant we saw this beautiful display on the sidewalk!

It makes me want to have a greenhouse just so I can decorate it!

Have a fabulous day!

Ooh, looks like so much fun! I love going to book signings and I think I've read all of Sophie Kinsella's books, except for Mini Shopaholic, which is on my Kindle ready to go!

I love your fall decor on your blog!

I've read all her books and would have loved to attend an event such as this.
Mini Shopaholic is on my must read list.

Happy Thanksgiving...next weekend.

She's a great author, it's nice to hear that she was pleasant to talk to in real life!! Definitely made it worth the long 3 hour wait!

What an awesome night out! I've only recently discovered Sophie Kinsella (because I live under a rock) but I'm already a fan!
