Friday

Happy Friday!

Don't forget to enter my Monogrammed Golf Glove Giveaway!

Lunch yesterday was wonderful!  I was the first one to arrive so I had a chance to chat with the hostess over a glass of wine before everyone else got there.  I was very happy I decided to dress a bit nicer than I would for a lunch around here - the other ladies were all dressed quite nice as well!  I always tend to overdress for anything but it certainly saves the embarassment of being underdressed!

Case in point, running into my own personal frenemy in Walmart.  She had recently taken custody of her 2 year old grandson (she is the same age as me) and looked like having a toddler in the house is taking it's toll on her.  She kept telling me how great I looked and wondered how I managed to do my hair and makeup with a toddler around because she is finding it impossible.  Success really is the best revenge!

My friend set a pretty little table by a sunny window....

We had a very tasty broccolli soup with some marbled rye bread that was baked that morning.  For dessert we had berries with shortcake and whipped cream.  Since swimsuit season is coming very soon we were all quite happy to have a light lunch!  Of course, the wine might have countered any saved calories but after a couple of glasses no one really minded!  Miss Janice, your napkin lessons were in my mind when I took this photo but since so many people around here would make no effort at all, a slight napkin transgression is acceptable in my mind.

While at lunch I discovered one of the ladies grew up with the Suburban Prince and knew his family all through school!  It is such a small world!

Miss Janice would like to see what I wore (which flatters me no end!) so here it is...

A black and white houndstooth jacket, a pink Calvin Klein tank top (honestly the only tank tops I have found that fit me perfectly!), silver and pearl chain necklace and a pink scarf...I actually changed the scarf to a different one after I took this photo and started getting dressed.  I also wore nice black pants and high heeled boots.  I also wore a cute bracelette in black and silver on one wrist and my Return to T&Co bracelette on the other wrist.  Diamond earrings, wedding and engagement rings and the ring the Suburban Prince gave me for my 35th birthday rounded out my outfit.  Fortunately, I did notice the pocket situation before I left the house - my seamstress had opened on of them so I opened the other one before I left the house.

Today I am going to lunch with one of the besties and I have some serious gossip involving a mutual friend (not the one we were with the other night) who was spotted the other day with a woman who may or may not be his wife!  I couldn't tell from the angle I was at but I know he saw me (he spoke to me a few minutes earlier) so it seems odd that he wouldn't tell his wife that I was behind them and very interesting that they started walking so fast they were almost running...hmmmm.  I wouldn't tell just anyone this little bit of goss but we all need one friend we can dish to all the while knowing it will not go any further!

On Saturday I will be going to Michaels with the Bestie to look for some Easter ribbon and perhaps some stationary.  The last time I was there I found the most adorable cards!  I love those bins at the front of the store!  The bestie will be coming to my house on Saturday night to watch a movie - any suggestions?

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!  I am still deciding if I will go to a sugarbush on Sunday morning - I would love to go but I would end up being a 3rd wheel as the Suburban Prince will be working and unable to go as well...so we will see what happens!

I still can't believe the new blogger editor does not have spell check!  I hate having to go to another site to confirm the spelling of words I dont use all the time!  So please forgive any 'typos' you find in my posts.

Have a fabulous day!

So glad you had a nice luncheon. Your outfit looks and sounds great. It is crazy that blogger editor does not have spell check. For the most part, if it is a short post I will type it right into blogger, but if it is a longer one, I will type it in Word then past it into blogger. We should not have to do that.

Well, whatever you decide to do for the weekend, I hope it is a great one!

Your luncheon sounds lovely & sounds like the outfit was perfect. That is a juicy piece of gossip you have there. And I am upset about the spell check issue too.

Sounds like a lovely ladies luncheon. Much better than my salad at my desk while correcting papers :)

I agree with you about blogger. I never realized how much I rely on spellcheck :)

That's some serious gossip!
I love your outfit and it sounds like you have a busy (but fun) weekend ahead. I plan to stay in my PJ's all weekend. My vacation was exhausting--I need one lazy weekend to get back into the swing of things!
