The Celebrations Continue!

Happy Monday! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas!

This last week has been so busy! On Christmas day we opened presents at home and then we packed up the car and went to my parents' house to spend time with them. Then we went to my in laws' house and spent the rest of the day there opening presents and eating way too much!

The Suburban Prince gave me the Sony eReader and T&Co bracelet I was hoping for! I have already loaded a few books on my eReader so I can take them with me! I also got lots of sweaters, smelly stuff, martini accessories and books. Oh and chocolate! Of course!

I cant wait to get some time to look at all of my new books and wear my new clothes! I mostly cant wait to have a martini!

Saturday we recovered and in the afternoon went to the neighbours' house for drinks and nibbles - when we got home I was so tired I think I was in bed by 8:30!

Yesterday morning I went over to Mark's Work Warehouse to get the little Chanel inspired jacket I saw the other day - it was 50% off! Fortunately there was one left in my size! Yay! I think I will wear it for the first time with the faux necklace silk top from Banana Republic!

In the afternoon we went back to my in laws' house to celebrate FIL's birthday. Two of BIL's friends were there too which is so nice because we haven't seen either of them in a few years. There was so much food I actually felt a bit sick when we left. I never want to see food again!

BIL did not come home with us last night as planned because his friends were still visiting so I think he will come over some time today - I hope he doesn't expect a home cooked meal for dinner as I just don't have it in me! I have a hair appointment this afternoon and when I get back I plan on watching my soap and taking a nap!

I need to get on with some New Years Eve planning! We are having 3 couples over for dinner and so far I have no idea what we are going eat! I am thinking about a ham and roasted veggies, warm potato salad and some sort of light dessert.

Is anyone else having trouble switching blog gears? I find myself at a bit of a loss right now - I am still in 'holiday' mode so all of my blog thoughts are to do with Christmas ideas and events but now that we are almost finished with the holidays I have to go back to every day sorts of posts and that feels a bit odd!

Sorry this post is a bit of a mishmash - it reflects how I am feeling right now!

Have a fabulous day!

Hahaha! Your thought mishmash is always an awesome read.

I think I want an E-reader too.

your new years eve meal sounds perfect! Do you like roasted brussels sprouts? they are sweet and perfect with a ham and potatoes!

A trifle. trifles are easy to make and festive and beautiful. You need to have a trifle for dessert.

And bubbly. Either prosecco or champagne!

EntertainingMom - I love them! I actually did a post about them a few months ago :O)

Hmmm Trifle - Sounds good - but we are having trifle for Hogmanay dinner the next day. I dont want to have it two days in a row :O( But I am going to make it for another dinner party in a few weeks!

What a fabulous Christmas!!! Anything T&Co. is always welcome. LOL!!! As for blogging I give up sometimes. :) My suggestion would be to do a year in review recap. I'll be doing one this week. LOL!! XOXO

Oh fun~ sounds like you got lots of goodies for Christmas. I'm in a bit of a blogging slump too. :)

Thank you so much for your sweet comment and your prayers concerning my Grandpa. Our family really felt all the prayers and it meant so much to us.

I know how you feel about the food thing, I am so stuffed from all of the wonderful food I still feel full, ha ha.

I know what you mean about transitioning, it is hard to figure out what to blog about. But, just be you and blog to your heart's content! :) Happy almost New Year!
