Outfit of the day

Hermes Scarf Friend was at meetings in the city on the same day she was to introduce a guest speaker at our Rotary meeting.  She was worried she might be stuck in traffic and wouldn't make it back to town in time so she gave me a type written introduction and instructions to take her place at the head table with her guest speaker.

Update:  HSF got there in time so I got away with cords and a sweater...I saved this outfit for our Christmas party tonight!

Normally I would wear something casual to Rotary...critters and a sweater, dressier jeans and a cute top.  But, sitting at the head table means everyone will be staring at me all night and I prefer to wear something nice to them to look at when I am front and center.

The dress is not denim...it's chambray, whatever that is.  It's not my usual sort of thing but I bought it on a whim and have been determined to work it into my outfits.  Not wanting anyone to confuse me with a farm girl I opted to wear a Dior scarf with it (yes, I realize that's not a Dior scarf we are looking at but the colours are very similar to the Dior I have) along with navy blue tights, black patent pumps and a navy blue purse.  Do I really need to say I also wore pearls?  A spritz of my usual perfume?  The one that all the men like by the way.  Forget all of your expensive designer hoity toity bottles of celebrity endorsed perfumes....I've had more compliments on my $20.00 Philosophy elixir than any other I have ever worn.

Have a fabulous day!

Chambray is awesome. I have a chambray shirt that I wear with my work suits.

Love that dress! Chambray is a great fabric, to me it's more of a dressed up sort of denim. I haven't owned any in quite awhile.

I love this look, can I demand more outfit posts from you so that I can blatantly rip off your style?

That's a great ensemble. Love those shoes.

I don't own any chambray, but I'd like to now that I've seen your dress!

You will be adorable! I don't have anything like that but could see myself loving that little dress as well. Happy Monday!

Love that look, and your recommendation on perfume.

Shirtdresses are always nice. Was that belt also part of the ensemble? The scarf also looks like a nice touch. Collars up, I presume! :)

Sounds like your perfume suits you...and who doesn't love it when a man pays you a compliment!

Your dress and scarf combination sound perfect for the Rotary event. I was just curious if you would be wearing any jewelry?

Associate Girl - I always avoided it as it seems too much like denim...but it worked well!

Wendy - I've never owned any chambray before so it was a stretch!

B&P - Done!

Adrienne - Shoes like that are a must in any wardrobe - they go with everything!

Bella - I suspect it would look great on everyone!

MissJ - I worked on a few more today :O)

HHL - It's not something I really thought about before, but now that I have figured out polyvore I will do more.

Hines - Sometimes less IS more!

John - No, the fabric just does work for my usual 'collars up!' look.

Hostess - I just wore my usual pearls. The sleeves saved me the trouble of wearing bracelets.

Jo - Shirt dresses are the best!

You'll wear that forever as it looks comfy and cool - and yes - what is chambray?
