9/11 - 10 years later

It's amazing to realize it has been 10 years since that awful, awful day.  I remember it like yesterday, where I was, what I was doing, trying to get on CNN from my desk at work in the financial industry.  The moment when we realized this wasn't an accident.  Wondering if planes were going to fall out of the sky all day long.  Toronto was evacuated and since my industry was shut down there was nothing to do but keep watching, waiting.

In the days following it was impossible to think about anything else and I found myself with a group of people in a hotel room glued to the tv all hoping against hope someone would find some survivors.

The world as we know it will always be before 9/11 and after 9/11.  10 years haven't taken the edge off.  My heart still breaks for everyone who lost a loved on that day, especially the people who didn't get the chance to say goodbye.

I only hope that someday, the world will learn something from it.

"Love is better than anger. Hope is better than fear. Optimism is better than despair."  ~Jack Layton - 2011~

Have a peaceful day.

It's a sad day for the world.
I remember where I was when the towers were struck and turning on the TV and watching in horror and disbelief.
So sad.

Lovely post. I wrote a similar one yesterday, do pop over. Like you, can't believe it was 10 years ago. But on the other hand, so much has happened since that fateful day :-(
