A day in the city!

A few weeks ago I spent the day in the city with High Heeled Life and our usual snooty pursuits - afternoon tea at the Windsor Arms, a stop at Hermes, a walk around Yorkville and a visit to the mother ship...Tiffany.  It's always so much fun to walk down the street with lots of colourful bags from each store we stop at!  Looking back we should've stopped at Holt Renfrew for something in a big pink bag!

One of the nice things about lunching with HHL is that she doesnt diet so she doesnt deprive herself of anything like a cookie or a little cake.  I, on the other hand, watch what I eat all the time (if I dont I would be 400lbs in the blink of an eye thanks to my wonderfully lazy metabolism) but when I go out for a special lunch I eat dessert...every time.  Soooo HHL will eat one of the little cakes and I get to eat the rest...who knows when I will get the chance again!  I consider if an exercise in quality control.  It's always something different at the Windsor Arms and this particular day we were brought the most amazing chocolate cakey, moussey something that I got so excited about I forgot to photograph....I think I got a little bit light headed when I ate it.  There was also this little concoction....a chocolate cup with what I thought might be peanut butter or caramel something in it with a chocolate pearl and edible gold leaf.  Once I tasted it I found it was dulce de leche...it was just ok but that might be because I was expecting something else.  Okie it was awesome lol!

Do you know HHL has a new blog?  Atteatude and Chocolate focuses on her love of tea and chocolate!

Have a fabulous day!

The dessert looks so good! I am with you...peanut butter would be so good with that. I love how you go into the city and shop. We don't have any of those stores local. I would have to drive 2 hours to Atlanta. I have to shop online. @waveat has an open account at Tiffany! haha. Oh the blue boxes we have. I better not let her read this blog today. She may get ideas...haha

What a great time! I don't know if you're a reader or not, but there's the cutest book called "Summer at Tiffany", by Marjorie Hart - not to be confused with another Tiffany book by James Patterson - don't know about that one. I don't comment as much as I should but I love reading about your adventures and outings!!

How fun! You two won't mind if I tag along next time, will you? (like how I just invite myself?)

I think Atteatude and Chocolate is a fabulous blog - I reference her post about the art of steeping tea regularly.

Happy Monday!

I think girlfriends who enjoy shopping and lunching are the BEST!
I rarely eat dessert but you'd never know by looking at me :)

What a deliciously painterly title for a post - "Summer in a Glass" - I adore the dessert. So pleasing to the eyes and so toothsome looking, too;-)
