Happy Friday!!! I can't believe it is September already!
- Let's keep our thoughts with our friends and family on the East coast. I know a few of our bloggy friends and my brother-in-law are in the path of Earl.
- I am so impressed with people who do meal planning. I have tried but then never know what I am going to feel like eating a week from now or if I will be invited out or will have time to cook on a certain day. How do they stick to the plan?
- I had an iced tea lemonade the other day. Now I know what all the fuss is about.
- The Little Prince was playing with a little girl's toy stroller and of course the result was a bit of a fight and some tears on the little girl's part (the Little Prince is very much like me, just give him what he wants and no one will be crying) and we were commenting on how all of the little boys don't bother with a toy until someone else is playing with it and I said this is why there are so many songs like Jesse's Girl and My Best Friend's Girlfriend. Five moms in my age backet laughed...the 25 year old mom stared blankly. Le sigh.
- My mom called on Wednesday night to complain that I never call her, to find out why she has had to call so many times to get a hold of me and to tell me they will be coming down on Saturday. Background info...they sold their house and have not bought a house to move into and their current house closes on September 30th. Pray for me.
- I had my first PSL of the season yesterday. YUM! But it was wayyy to hot in Toronto to be drinking hot, autumnal beverages.
- When I went to the school to pick up the Little Prince the other day his teacher said 'Bye Honey!' as we were leaving....the Little Prince turned back, waved and yelled 'Bye Honey!!!!' *giggle*
Have a fabulous day!
PS...I have a giveaway coming on Monday!

FYI, lemonade + iced tea = an Arnold Palmer Delicious!
Totally has me craving iced tea lemonade now!! :)
Thanks for your thoughts of us in Earl's path. The latest forecast doesn't sound too terrifying -- winds between 90 to 110 km per hr (Whoooh Nelly) and lots of rain. But hopefully, back to normal (minus the cleanup, of course) on Sunday.
Thanks for your thoughts of us here in NC! So far I haven't heard of any injuries at all and I don't think it was too bad of damage.
I want a PSL too!!!! I can't even go there though. It's been in the 90's and I think I can hold out for a couple more weeks.
That is SOOOO cute how he said "Bye Honey!" too. LOL
I always look forward to Friday mornings and your thoughts! I never walk away without a smile on my face!
xoxo
My mom was a HUGE meal planner. So when I moved out, I tried to play along and plan my meals. It was a fail. I still don't know how she did it. I fly by the seat of my pants.
Happy long weekend to you!
Now I am truly craving an iced tea lemonade! May have to go to Starbucks on the lunch break and pick one up!
Have a great weekend, lovely lady!
Enjoy your weekend as well.
My prayers are definitely going out to those on the East Coast.
I have been planning my meals for years. I always allow for spontaneity. I switch days when the mood strikes and, if I end up eating out, I may still cook the meal intended for that evening (at another time) and freeze it for later use. I typically plan a proposed/suggested menu for the month, but each week I prepare the final weekly menu and shop accordingly.
I hope for your sake your parents find a new home before the end of the month! I will keep you in my prayers.
LP’s "Bye Honey" to his teacher is too cute!
Have a fantastic weekend!

An "Arnold Palmer" and a "bye, honey" all in the same week?! I think all the southern blogs you are reading are powerful influences! ;D Hope you have a wonderful weekend and that the visit with the parents is uneventful!
I had my first PSL yesterday too. It was fantastic.
I need a pumpkin spice latte now! I could drink them ALL year round! ;)
I'm laughing at the comment about your mother, however, believe me when I say I feel for you! I hope she finds a house!
The LP 'bye Honey" comment was so adorable.....
Have a great weekend.
I just got off the phone with my father and had TWO glasses of wine!!
Know how you feel!!
Aww.. LP is so adorable .. you'll have to make a note his "Bye Honey" first saying was to an older woman when he was 2...lol..
Oh no.. say its not so.. quick turn all spare rooms into something other than spare!!
Wishing you a wonderful week-end..HHL
Thank you so much for your kind comment this morning. I have just been kind of burned out...with everything I guess. Sort of worn out and exhausted. Feeling better though. It is feeling great to catch up on everyone's lives.
I just died laughing about the Jesse's Girl reference. JBB never wants a toy until Pretty Girl starts playing with it *and* there is a new technician at work who is 21. That doesn't sound terribly young until you think that her birthday is in 1989. Oh my. I am totally addicted to The A-Team right now. That was before she was born. Kind of like how I don't remember people protesting the Vietnam War. Gasp.
Oh! The Arnold Palmer iced tea - lemonade is very popular in this house! His commercial for it is also very funny!
Thank you to everyone who told me the name of the ice tea/lemonade drink! I knew it had a name but couldn't remember it...I had it at Sbux so it didn't have a brand abassador attached to it.
Little Prince sounds too cute! I've had a PSL everyday since it came out! I guess you could say I'm addicted....
P.S. I'm hosting a giveaway that you should check out!
Arnold Palmers are my favorite. My signature drink at our rehearsal dinner was iced tea, lemonade, and Firefly Vodka (which is sweet tea flavored vodka.) It was sooo great!
Thank you, dear one, for thinking of us this weekend. I am sure you know by now that we missed what could have been a bad storm. I love your Friday posts! May have to "borrow" that idea ;)
Plan a meal? I am lucky if I can get a meal together that I didn't order!
Best,
Colleen
I'm 25 and I sure do know both of those songs!
And lemonade Iced Tea? sounds great! too bad you can't get iced drinks anywhere over here! I'll have to put that on my to-do list when I go back to the states for a visit!
