Last week we took the Little Prince to the zoo about an hour north of us. It is a very small zoo, perfect for a 2 year old and parents who have a lot to do like stop at Costco and get everyone home before nap time. This zoo is a lot of fun because they have feedings scheduled every day for the public - last year we saw the otters being fed and it was a riot! We held the Little Prince up to the window and the otter kept coming and standing up right in front of him!
The heat wave had broken so the animals were all out and showing off!
A bobcat maybe? I should've paid more attention to the signs!
The Little Prince kept saying ROAR to these guys!
Llamas hang out right by the highway!
Cute little donkeys!
This is a camel - 2 humps!
This is a dromedary - 1 hump.
When you see people riding camels they are actually riding dromedaries.
An ostrich with her dozen eggs.
She was kind enough to stand up for me so I could get a nice photo!
Cheeky little monkeys!
And then my camera battery died. Hmpfh. We will be going again soon so I will get photos of the rest of the animals...like the meercats!
Have a fabulous day!
PS....I realise my blog background has been having a bit of a personality disorder - the site I get my backgrounds from was having problems so I needed to change looks which caused coding issues etc...I really wanted the beach background for the summer so I am happy it's back!
PPS...There are some fun giveaways on my sidebar - have a look and tell them I sent you!

ROOAAARRR!! How adorable! I bet the Little Prince had a blast! Glad you had a break from the heat too. Sounds like a fun day (and a trip to Costco, yay! Can you believe I don't have one near me where we're currently living!) Sending you a smile and a great big THANK YOU for the lovely card, I was sooo happy when I checked my mail yesterday! :) Hugs to you friend xoxo
What a wonderful outing... Little Prince must have had a "wild" time!!! Happy Wednesday ..HHL
Ahhh! I LOVE the zoo. When I had only 1 child we lived near the zoo. I'd pull out the little red wagon and we'd walk up there and spend a couple of hours while my husband was in class. Such great memories!

Cute! What better way to spend a lovely summer day than at the zoo! I used to love going as a child - and still do!
I bet Little Prince roaring at the cats was too cute! I always enjoyed taking my boys to the zoo and now I cannot wait until Sean is old enough.

I love going to zoos! I believe the cat you saw was a Desert Lynx. I know this because we had one as a pet when I was a child.
I'll bet the Little Prince was thrilled to see all the animals up close & personal.
By the way, Blogger totally ate my blogroll, so I've been working at getting it back, so there have been some blogger issues of late.
Awww, I love this post! The Little Prince is such a doll, and your pictures are great! And i am loving your blog background, soft and summery.
Sending you a smile,

So sweet! What is it about a zoo that brings out the child in all of us?! What a fun day for you and the Little Prince!

A trip to the zoo is always a good time. I love his Roar....
This looks like the Peterborough zoo - my aunt and uncle live in Lakefield and we visit them quite a bit with the kids.
Have a good week. Enjoying your blog!
Ha! The 'much-climbed-on' camel gave it away. I don't know why our city here couldn't do some of natural setting zoo for all the ontario wildlife around.
Haven't been to the Bowmanville Zoo, is it worth it? Hard to compete against FREE with Peterborough.
I'm sure that Little Prince had so much fun! I've not been to the zoo in ages! Love the photos:)
Heyyy that monkey is so cute and lovely pics.....check out my blog
