R.I.P. Dixie Carter

Sadly, Dixie Carter passed away yesterday.  She was 70.

Known best for her role as Julia Sugerbaker on Designing women.

I always loved this show - just recently I was trying to find it on dvd.  Who didn't love how Dixie Carter delivered some of the best writing on tv with that Southern accent.  As a teenager in the 80's it was women like her who shaped who I would grow up to be.

Dixie Carter was always my favorite on the show & I always loved that her real life hubby Hal Holbrook played her hubby on the show. They did a movie together in 2008 but I've never seen it. What a great lady she was. I learned so much *attitude* from Designing Women...

I loved this show too - she played such a terrific character, but remembering a number of interviews that she did, more importantly she was a great lady - RIP.

So sad to hear of her passing. I have read that alot of her own character came out in Julia Sugarbaker (one of my most favourite TV characters ever!). Beauty, brains and gentile southern charm, a true lady if there ever was one! She will be missed!
