When good shoppers go bad!

Happy Sunday!  I hope you are having a wonderful weekend!

If you bought mittens and they have not yet arrived, please bear in mind they are coming from Canada and when items are shipped to another country they do take time to cover the great distance and to clear customs.  Please allow 2-3 weeks for them to arrive.  I shipped them all the least expensive way possible so neither Canada Post or USPS are going to be in any great hurry with them.

On Friday morning I took the Little Prince to the playground but he rejected that idea in favour of walking around downtown visiting the shops and the shop owners.  He loves going from shop to shop letting all the ladies fuss over him!  He is his mother's son!  The brighter side of this adventure was it allowed me to run a few errands like dropping clothes off at the charity shop and picking up a new pink toothbrush at the drug store.

When we arrived home again I packed a bag for the Little Prince and we all went to visit my inlaws.  I insisted on a stop at Yves Rocher to pick up some nice smellies and while we were there and Starbucks is so close I insisted a vanilla latte was the only thing that would get me through the rest of the day!

We spent the rest of the day with my inlaws including a visit to the playground and a nice dinner.  The perk of having a small child is no one argues when you announce at 8pm that it is time to go home!  I love being home by 9pm, in my jammies, watching a movie!

Yesterday the Bestie and I bundled the Little Prince in his stroller and walked from our house to the downtown for lunch.  This part of the walk is always the easy part since it is downhill most of the way - the trek home always leaves me questioning my sanity!  Considering I have walked about 400 miles this week alone, my legs felt like they were going to fall off!  I opted to spend the rest of the day relaxing after our 3 hour hike.

I mentioned my self-imposed shopping ban the other day.  It makes me sad but I had to rein things in!  Even I had to admit it was a bit much when multiple parcels would arrive every day and I was scouring ebay and etsy every evening for deals on LV, Lilly and many other fun things.  I think this winter was so long and icky I would shop out of boredom.  I have deleted every item I was watching on ebay and etsy, stopped reading the fashion blogs and am determined to shop in my own closet until the start of May.  I take full responsibility for any shops that going out of business during my hiatus.  It will be a challenge but I think it will be good for me to find other things to do.  So far I have been working on cleaning out my closet so I can switch over the spring/summer clothes which has really made me realise how many articles of clothing I actually own!  A lot!  I have a basket at the front door for items going to the charity shop so hopefully I can pare things down a little bit.  I just cant help it...I like to look good!

The shopping trip that put me over the edge was this past week in Toronto.  Even I had to be a bit embarassed at how much I spent on these.....

You would probably be a bit ill if you knew how much they cost in Canada but I have wanted them for years and they make me very happy!  I was shocked they are even available here - the Tretorn website does not list the store I found them in!  I wore them on Friday and people commented on them and the lady who owns one of the clothing stores in town said she loved my spring ensemble because the colours were so perfect (pink and green of course!).  She told me she remembered having Tretorns as a teenager so she loved seeing them again!

I would not suggest playing tennis in them or even wearing them for a long power walk as like so many other bloggers have said, they aren't the same as they were 20-odd years ago.  They dont have the support and cushion that made them a great athetic shoe back in the day but they are comfy and they look great!  I swear they made me look 14 again!  See why I needed them?!

Coming up this week...

- Easter ideas!
- My birthday celebrations!
- A birthday giveaway!
- A quick and easy recipe!

Have a fabulous day!

Hope your week ahead is divine!

Cute shoes! Sounds like a fun weekend! There is something about this time of year that makes me pour over ebay and etsy for Lilly P items. I need to reign it in also!

Still haven't sent mine back... maybe I should just say WTH and keep them. Though I am still so sad they aren't the same! Sigh...

I understand...I am a good bit older than you & it took me a long time to get my shopping in check, so to speak. It is hard, but worth it & then you appreciate everything so much more.

I was just looking at Tretorns at the Lands End section of Sears. They only have the white or navy, but I love your pink ones.
