Christmas ornaments at my house!

Don't forget to enter my Christmas Giveaway!

As I was taking photos of my party decor I took photos of my favourite ornaments on our tree....

This one really is the most important one - it is the Little Prince's 1st Christmas ornament. I will get him one every year!

Pier 1 puts out a dated ornament every year and the Suburban Prince always gets one for our tree. I will get the 2009 ornament on Christmas morning so this is the 2008 one.

We have travelled quite a bit and I always pick up an ornament where ever we go. We got this one in NYC in February of this year.

We got this one in Paris in 2003.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

We got this one in a Christmas store in Vermont. There is a funny story that goes with this ornament! We were in Vermont in September of 2007 and I saw the brochure for the Christmas store very close to where we were staying. The brochure said something along the lines of 'New England's biggest Christmas store' or some such thing...the words 'New' and 'England' played a big role in the marketing of this store. I told the Suburban Prince I wanted to go to this store on the same day we went to Ben&Jerry's and cheese shopping (yes, I do love Vermont!). The Suburban Prince said there was no way we would be able to go to the Christmas store since it is in New England. Hmmm ok. I told him we just need to follow the driving directions and all would be fine. He was insistent - we were not driving all the way to New England. I asked him where New England is and his reply was 'Somewhere on the east coast near Maine and Massachusetts'. Oh......ok. We went to the dining room for breakfast and over the most delicious maple walnut muffins (made with real maple syrup - have I mentioned I love Vermont?) I asked the waitress where New England is and if she could give us driving directions. She looked at me like she knew it was a trick question but didn't quite know what the trick was. I insisted she tell me where New England is and finally she sheepishly said 'We are in New England' and hurried off to top up everyone's coffee cups. I looked at the Suburban Prince with that little smile that says 'That's what you get for arguing with me' and batted my eyelashes. The Christmas store was our first stop right after breakfast...about 5 minutes from our hotel. In New England.

I dont remember where this monkey came from, I think the Suburban Prince bought him somewhere on his travels. The important part is he has a crown!

I love crowns.

Lots and lots of crowns.

I am a princess after all! Animals wearing crowns are always a bit hit too!

This is one of the villages we have in the wall unit. We have a much bigger one but I need to figure out the panorama setting on my camera before I can show you a photo of it. Right after I took this photo I added the snow to this village.

Have a fabulous day!

UPDATE - The Suburban Prince just read this and is trying to convince me he thought New England is like New Mexico and not an area. The words 'The Chipotle States' actually did just come out of his mouth!

Love the tree ornaments... and I love that every one has a story. That is priceless. That's a great idea, getting a new ornament each year for the little prince. It will be an heirloom of sorts.

No, she doesn't read my blog. Only a few people know about it. But I'd tell her she's acting bat sh!t crazy in a heartbeat. I mean seriously! That's just downright insane to tell me not to reply when someone asks me for my opinion. Chick needs to get a grip.

I love Christmas ornaments and the stories behind them. Love the camel, but the mokey is adorable. You can't go wrong with a monkey Christmas ornament!

I love the collection! My own personal collection is limited to the ornaments I made in grade school (playdough on a string). I can't wait to start a real collection of my own.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
