To make the Oreo pops I used the following:
1 package of Oreos (500grams)
1 package of cream cheese (250 grams)
Melting Chocolate
Lollipop sticks
Sprinkles
Block of styrofoam
Lollipop bags/wrappers
Ribbon
I used my food processor to crush the Oreos (cream centers too!) and mixed in the package of softened cream cheese. Chill this mixture for a couple of hours then roll into balls and put them onto wax paper on a baking tray. Pop them into the freezer while you melt the chocolate in a double boiler.
When the chocolate is melted get the Oreo balls from the freezer. Dip a lollipop stick about 1/2 inch into the melted chocolate and then stick into a frozen Oreo ball. This will help secure the ball to the stick. The photo above shows how the chocolate will pool at the base of the stick to keep the ball stuck to it. This is important so they don't fall off when you dip them into the melted chocolate.
When you have stuck the sticks into all of the Oreo balls dip each pop into the melted chocolate. Tap off the excess chocolate and dip into sprinkles. I used candy coated mini chocolate chips. Stick the pops into your block of styrofoam so they can set.
Once the Oreo pops were all set I wrapped them all and tied with them with ribbon. I started getting them all arranged in a basket to they would be transported easily!
Here they are ready for my friend to take them to her son's party. I made them over two days - On the first day I made the Oreo mixture and rolled them into balls. On the second day I dipped and wrapped them all.
This is a very easy activity and I see no reason the little ones couldn't help with all of it except the chocolate dipping. Use any kind of Oreo you like...I will be making the mint ones at Christmastime!
**Warning** This is a serious hit of chocolate! Perhaps sitting down before eating your first one would be best for all involved!
Have a fabulous day!

Yummo!!! They look delicious! I was always scared to make them! Other people (like you) make them look so easy though!
They are super easy to make! It takes a little practice getting the right amount of chocolate on them but once you do a few you will have the hang of it!
I made cake pops last weekend. Although they were good, mine weren't as pretty as yours. Yours are so perfect and pretty.
